Hello! How are you? How’s everything? I hope things are going well for you. I’m doing pretty good. I’ve wanted to start a blog for forever! (Ok, so I started this blog a year ago, but I never actually like did anything with it.) Back in the day, I used to read so many blogs and I’d live vicariously through the words and experiences of others and I felt all the more wiser because of it. Even though, I still know nothing, but you know for a little while I felt all experienced and intellectual.
I don’t read blogs much anymore, but I do watch vlogs. Practically every single day. Peter Monn’s vlogs are my favorite.
The current global pandemic has me working from home and it is an experience. Let me tell you, I was not prepared to work from home. Truly. I mean, I had the wardrobe for it, faded concert tees and faded sweatpants. But the technological stuff like a functioning printer or a desk or a chair or even a friggin legal pad, this homegirl was struggling. My laptop decided to dip on me about 3 weeks into working from home. My internet speed and my router were totally barely pedestrian level, so I had to upgrade. And thankfully that went pretty well. Prior to the internet upgrade I was getting disconnected every 5 minutes using remote pc. That was so not fun. Now, I’m over a month in to working from home and I really like it. I am truly enjoying the solitude.
I listen to podcasts and YouTube and music most of the day while working, but during my breaks I listen to low hum of my Lasko standing fan. The low steady humming of my fan seems to take me to a relaxed head space. During my breaks I lie down and close my eyes and I drift into a dreamy meditative space. I see people and things that I don’t recognize. I haven’t felt this way in a while. I used to do this all the time, and until recently, I forgot about going there to that strange and familiar place. Sometimes the faces and images that I see in my thoughts or mind are slightly jolting, but mostly pretty easy and dreamy.
Dreamy like Jinki Lee.
I’ve found a new fondness for working from home, even though sometimes getting motivated to work is challenging. But things like rent, lights, and gas can really get me back on track, and I’m ready to compose another email and take on the day! But I’m so thankful that my kind mom sent me a killer laptop late last year, just because. She is such a sweetheart. I love her. I love the laptop.
